Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ObraVera, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

What ObraVera Is — and Is Not

ObraVera is a registry of record. When you register a work, we record your own signed declaration — bound to the content of the work and to the time of registration — and give you a receipt that anyone can verify independently.

ObraVera does not certify authorship, does not determine whether a work was created by a human or with AI assistance, does not adjudicate copyright ownership, and does not judge the quality or originality of any work. A registration record shows that a particular account holder registered particular content at a particular time — nothing more, and nothing less. What evidentiary weight to give a record is always for others (courts, publishers, platforms, readers) to decide. Nothing on this service constitutes legal advice.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority where you live, if higher) and capable of entering into a binding contract to use ObraVera. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the service is lawful in your jurisdiction.

User Accounts

Account Creation

To use certain features of ObraVera, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Be responsible for all activities under your account

We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication on your account.

Registration Declaration

When you register a work, you make a declaration about that work. By submitting a registration you confirm that:

• You are entitled to register the work — as its creator, or with the authority of the rights holder
• Your authorship disclosure (human-authored, AI-assisted, or AI-generated) is made honestly and to the best of your knowledge
• The information you provide with the registration is accurate to the best of your knowledge

Your declaration is yours: it is recorded as a creator-stated claim, in your name, and it travels with the record. Knowingly false declarations are a violation of these terms and may result in the affected records being revoked or annotated and your account being suspended.

What the authorship options mean

When you register a text work you disclose how it was made. This is your own statement, recorded in your name — ObraVera does not check or certify it. Choose the option that honestly describes the role generative AI played in the expressive content of the work; if you are between two, choose the one with more AI involvement.

• Human-authored — The words and creative choices in the work are your own. You may have used ordinary tools (a word processor, spell-check, a grammar or style checker, a thesaurus, search engines for research), but no generative AI produced any of the text that appears in the finished work.
• AI-assisted — You made the work with generative AI and shaped the result. AI produced some of the material (drafts, passages, suggestions, variations), but you directed it and contributed substantial creative expression of your own — rewriting, editing, selecting, arranging, or building on what it produced.
• AI-generated — Generative AI produced the substance of the work from your prompts or inputs, and you did not substantially rewrite it or add your own creative expression. Your role was mainly to prompt, configure, select among outputs, or lightly edit — the expressive content is essentially what the machine generated.

These definitions apply to text works. Other media may use their own definitions at the point of registration.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Register works you are not entitled to register
• Provide false or misleading information
• Impersonate another person or organization
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt the service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, or circumvent rate limits and access controls

Verification and Organization Affiliation

Account holders may seek Verified accreditation, either by claiming membership of a professional organization we list (which we confirm with the organization before it takes effect) or through an approved identity-verification provider. You agree that:

• Affiliation and identity claims you submit are truthful, and any membership identifier or evidence you supply is genuine and yours
• Verified status is an account-level accreditation about your identity or membership. It is never a statement about any registered work, its authorship, or how it was made
• We may decline, or later revoke, Verified status if a claim cannot be confirmed, is found to be false, or if the confirming organization withdraws it
• False affiliation claims are a violation of these terms and may result in account suspension

Membership identifiers and supporting evidence are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Content and Intellectual Property

Your work remains yours. Registering a work with ObraVera transfers no ownership and grants us no rights in your work beyond the limited, non-exclusive licence necessary to operate the registry: to process the file you submit, to compute and store content fingerprints and identifiers derived from it, and to display the resulting registration record and receipt to you and to those you share them with. We do not publish, sell, or license your works.

Sample records seeded onto invited accounts use ObraVera-authored demonstration texts, are clearly labelled as samples, and can be deleted by the account holder at any time.

The ObraVera name, site design, and software are the property of ObraVera and its licensors. Registration receipts are yours to share and reproduce freely.

Fees

Registering works as an individual creator is currently free of charge. If we introduce paid services in the future, they will apply to new or optional capabilities: your existing registration records will not be placed behind a paywall. Identity verification through third-party providers, where you choose it, is paid by you directly to the provider — ObraVera is not a party to that payment.

Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue ObraVera at any time. Where reasonably possible we will give notice of material changes, and in the event of a planned discontinuation we will provide a reasonable period for you to export your registration receipts.

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time; the handling of your data on deletion is described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Provide false information in a registration declaration or affiliation claim
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
• Harm the ObraVera community or the integrity of the registry

Disclaimers

ObraVera is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. In particular, we do not warrant that a registration record will achieve any specific legal, commercial, or evidentiary outcome, or that any third party will accept it as proof of any fact.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ObraVera shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. To the same extent, our total aggregate liability for any claims relating to the service shall not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim or €100. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including under mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.

Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of France. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the competent courts of the place where ObraVera is established, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections and forums available under the law of your country of residence. Please contact us first — most issues can be resolved directly.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date, and we will notify account holders by email of material changes before they take effect.
